About Me

I'm a medical student, Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor in-training, and International Association of Yoga Therapist (IAYT) in-training who integrates medicine and yoga to help people cope with physical, mental, and emotional challenges.

Ironically, I have limited flexibility — no pretzel yogi here. While I'm programmed to run nearly every day, getting to and staying on my yoga mat requires discipline. I practice yoga because it helps me cultivate the ability to still the fluctuations of the mind and because I can't say no to a sober dance party.

I recently sat for my first 10-day Vipassana. In addition to absolutely blowing my mind (turns out you can get unlimited life lessons from sitting), it highlighted how much of my mental energy is dominated by food. My food fixation dates back to my high school wrestling days. For almost a decade, my relationship with food was strictly governed by rules — sometimes at the expense of my real relationships. While I haven't cracked the code, preparing nourishing foods is my love language. I'm passionate about changing our relationship with food and leveraging food to reverse disease and promote wellness.

Here's a list of my favorite things: Bread baskets, kitchen dance parties, coastal runs, my goofball hunk of a husband and labradoodle baby, and active and nourishing days with friends and family.

Education and Certifications

Boston University School of Medicine, MD Candidate 2023

I have healthcare exposure from various angles. I accompanied my dad (against my will) on overnight ER shifts. I had short stints at innovation institutes, a health care consulting firm, and health system. These experiences left me with a realistic understanding of the healthcare system and shaped my desire to care for patients directly and change incentives to promote whole person wellness.

My Yoga Philosophy

Jenn's yoga classes balance joy and play with intention and compassion. As a medical student and yoga therapy student, she prioritizes proper alignment and safety. As a life long runner, she has tight hamstrings and encourages students to prioritize what your body needs over picture perfect postures. She weaves in metta meditation, breathing, philosophy, and self-inquiry into practice, and encourages students to use yoga for personal transformation and fuel for loving kindness to all.
